Cord Locks and Drawcord Stoppers

Cord locks and stoppers control the position of a drawcord, lace or elastic cord so the user can tighten, release or hold the adjustment point. Buttonsguy models vary in cord-entry diameter, number of holes, body size and operating mechanism. The best choice begins with the real cord and the movement required by the finished product.
Match the entry opening to the cord
Measure the actual cord diameter and compare it with the product opening. For double-hole stoppers, confirm how both cord sections pass through the body. A cord that is too thick can bind, while a much smaller cord may not hold as intended.
Check the mechanism and operating direction
Some stoppers use a spring-loaded push action while others rely on a different internal geometry. Test the exact model with the real cord and confirm that the user can operate it comfortably in the final orientation.
Do not confuse the stopper with the cord end
The stopper adjusts or holds the cord. The cord end finishes the free end. Compare both through the cord hardware category when building a complete drawcord system.
Test grip without damaging the cord
During sampling, check that the stopper holds the selected position but does not unnecessarily crush or abrade the cord. Record the Buttonsguy product code together with the approved cord specification.
Frequently asked questions
Is cord diameter the only factor?
No. Hole count, mechanism and the cord material also affect performance.
Can a double-hole stopper be used with one cord?
Use the product according to its intended routing and test the complete cord path.
Is a cord end a stopper?
No. A cord end finishes the free end and does not perform the same adjustment job.
What should I test before production?
Test grip, release movement, cord fit and user access in the final product orientation.
